Monday, 1 April 2019 – Office of General Education, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, held KMUTT Street Basketball 8/2018 Competition at 190th Anniversary King Mongkut’s Memorial Building as a part of GEN 101 Physical Education in the semester 2/2018.
Basketball is a sport used as an instructional activity for GEN 101 Physical Education. It is helpful for physical development, especially deftness and speed of multiple sensory nerves, and promotion of exercise behaviour of the students. Moreover, it can improve mental health when the students encounter the outcome of winning or losing. They can learn to forgive and good sportsmanship from the games. Basketball also creates a sense of unity and a strong relationship among the students. The participants of this competition were 200 students of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi who enrolled in GEN 101 (Basketball). The competition was divided into two types – Men’s Team and Women’s Team. The prize money of 2,000 baht was awarded to the winning team, 1,500 baht to the first runner–up, and 1,000 baht to the second runner–up.
