Friday, November 6, 2020 the School of Liberal Arts held the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Founding of the School of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. In the morning, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sasitorn Suwannathep, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, along with the staff paid homage to His Majesty King Mongkut The Great (Rama IV) Royal Monument. Afterwards, the staff and the students of SoLA attended the Buddhist ceremony, including offering a forenoon meal and Buddhist offering sets to monks, and Islamic Ceremony. In the afternoon, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, presided over the opening ceremony of the International Learning Space, 1st floor, School of Liberal Arts Building. Besides, there were several activities in this event: Speech Contest, the Invited Talk “Who Says Women are not Leaders: Talking Gender Equality in Liberal Arts Education” by Cindy Sirinya Bishop and Parit Wacharasindhu, the Special Talk on “The Environmental Crisis & Does the Door to Sustainability Really Exist?” by Piphat Apiraktanakorn, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Shuchana Chavanich, Varoon Varanyanond, and Dr. Puntita Tanwattana, and interesting booths such as Cooking Demonstration, Health and Wellness, Royal Thai Dessert, Thai Local Wisdom, as well as The 20 Years of SoLA Exhibition “Commemorate our glorious past, inspire our brighter future”.
