ABOUT TETET
Test of English for Thai Engineers and Technologists (TETET) is a computer-based English language proficiency test. TETET aims to test English language proficiency in the four language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) with the content based on situations in which Thai engineers and technologists are most likely to need to use English.
เป็นแบบทดสอบภาษาอังกฤษระบบอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ ที่ใช้วัดความสามารถทางภาษาอังกฤษทั้ง 4 ทักษะ โดยเน้นกิจกรรมทางภาษาที่เกิดขึ้นในสถานที่ทำงานในประเทศไทย
TETET can be one of the choices for those who need to know their English proficiency and make use of the score for their particular purposes.
– Staff working in a company who desire to know their English proficiency levels and use the score for job application or career promotion.
– University students or wanting to work in engineering and technology positions.
– KMUTT graduate students who want to exempt some fundamental English courses and meet the graduation requirement of the university.

TETET เป็นแบบทดสอบภาษาอังกฤษระบบอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ ซึ่งเป็นแบบทดสอบที่เน้นวัดความสามารถทางทักษะภาษาอังกฤษที่จำเป็นต้องใช้ในสถานที่ทำงาน ไม่เจาะจงเฉพาะสาขา โดยประกอบไปด้วยแบบทดสอบภาษาอังกฤษทั้ง 4 ทักษะภาษา ได้แก่
1. การอ่าน ประกอบด้วย การอ่านจับใจความอย่างรวดเร็ว การอ่านข้อความจากอินเทอร์เน็ต การอ่านคู่มือทางเทคนิค การอ่านอีเมล
2. การเขียน ประกอบด้วย การเขียนรายงาน การเขียนโน้ตย่อ การเขียนอีเมล
3. การฟัง ประกอบด้วย การฟังการประชุม การฟังบทสนทนา การฟังข้อความทางโทรศัพท์
4. การพูด ประกอบด้วย การถามตอบแบบสั้น และการสื่อสารทางธุรกิจ
The test is marked by both computer and trained human markers. The scores on each section are converted from the raw scores to the band levels. In the score report, a candidate receives 5 scores: an overall score and a score for each of the 4 language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking. TETET scores range from Level 0 (no evidence of English proficiency) to Level 7 (near-native speaker like English proficiency). In the report, there is a table showing each TETET band level equivalent to two other commonly used measures of English proficiency: CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) – based on the research results. TETET scores are valid for 2 years.
แบบทดสอบมีการให้คะแนนโดยระบบคอมพิวเตอร์อัตโนมัติและกรรมการผู้ตรวจข้อสอบ การรายงานคะแนน TETET อยู่ในรูปแบบเกรดตั้งแต่ 0-7 โดยผู้เข้าสอบจะได้รับรายงานผลคะแนนในรูปแบบเกรดและคำอธิบายทั้งในภาพรวมและแต่ละทักษะทางภาษาทั้ง 4 ทักษะพร้อมเปรียบเทียบคะแนนกับแบบทดสอบมาตรฐาน TOEIC และกรอบมาตรฐาน CEFR โดยผ่านการทำวิจัย ผลสอบที่ได้มีอายุการใช้งานประมาณ 2 ปี
TETET scores can provide you a clearer idea how good is your English especially in the working place context covering all 4 main communicative skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking. TETET also provides the equivalent scores to TOEIC and CEFR.
KMUTT graduate students who want to exempt some fundamental English courses (LNG550 and/or LNG 600) and meet the graduation requirement of the university
1. สามารถใช้คะแนน TETET เพื่อบอกระดับความสามารถทางภาษาอังกฤษทั้ง 4 ทักษะ (ฟัง พูด อ่าน เขียน) ที่เน้นกิจกรรมทางภาษาอังกฤษที่เกิดขึ้นในสถานที่ทำงาน
2. สามารถใช้คะแนน TETET เพื่อเทียบเคียงความสามารถทางภาษาอังกฤษกับแบบทดสอบมาตรฐาน TOEIC และกรอบมาตรฐานทางภาษา CEFR ได้
3. สำหรับนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี สามารถใช้คะแนน TETET ในการยกเว้นการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษบางรายวิชา (LNG 550 และ LNG 600) ตามเกณฑ์ที่มหาวิทยาลัยกำหนด
The facts that TETET is based on an extensive needs analysis and that it provides coverage of the most useful skills for Thai engineers and technicians suggest high validity. More formally, validity can be established by examining the correlations between TETET and other methods of measuring the same ability; in the case of TETET, a comparable method is TOEIC. Comparing scores from test-takers who have taken both tests, TETET has a very high correlation with TOEIC, again indicating high validity.
