การใช้สถิติแบบต่างๆในงานวิจัยเชิงภาษาศาสตร์ประยุกต์รวมถึงเกณฑ์ในการเลือกใช้สถิตินั้นๆ ให้เหมาะกับประเภทของงานวิจัย การฝึกใช้โปรแกรมสถิติเช่น เอสพีเอสเอส และโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์อื่นๆ ที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงเนื้อหา การสร้างรหัสในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล การจัดลำดับข้อมูล การแปรผลโดยใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ดังที่ได้กล่าวไว้ข้างต้น
