เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 16 สิงหาคม 2567 ศูนย์พัฒนาสมรรถนะสากล (Global Competence Development Centre: GCDC) คณะศิลปศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี จัดกิจกรรมค่ายภาษาอังกฤษ “English Olympian Camp” ให้กับนักเรียนโรงเรียนวัดพุทธบูชา ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 และปีที่ 5 จำนวน 60 คน โดยได้รับเกียรติจากผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ณัตจิรี จาตุรพิทักษ์กุล รองคณบดีฝ่ายพัฒนาสมรรถนะสากล คณะศิลปศาสตร์ กล่าวต้อนรับคณะผู้บริหาร ครู และนักเรียน และดร.นฤเทพ ใจสุทธิ ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนวัดพุทธบูชา ได้กล่าวเปิดกิจกรรมค่ายภาษาอังกฤษ และให้โอวาทแก่นักเรียนที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรม
โดยกิจกรรมค่ายภาษาอังกฤษ “English Olympian Camp” จัดขึ้นเพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้เรียนได้ฝึกและพัฒนาทักษะการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ เพื่อสื่อสารในสถานการณ์ที่เหมือนจริง และหลากหลายมากกว่าการเรียนในห้องเรียน ผ่านการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมฐานการเรียนรู้ (Learning Station) ทั้งหมด 4 ฐาน ได้แก่
ฐานการเรียนรู้ที่ 1: Talk 2AI (กิจกรรมที่ให้ผู้เรียนได้ทดลองเลือกใช้เทคโนโลยีต่างๆ มาช่วยในการฝึกและพัฒนาทักษะภาษาอังกฤษ ทั้งการพูด การฟัง การอ่าน และการเขียน)
ฐานการเรียนรู้ที่ 2: Tell me a Story (กิจกรรมที่ให้ผู้เรียนได้ฝึกและพัฒนาทักษะการเขียนและการพูดภาษาอังกฤษ รวมถึงทักษะความคิดสร้างสรรค์ ผ่านการถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวด้วยการวาดภาพและเล่าเรื่อง)
ฐานการเรียนรู้ที่ 3: MasterChef (กิจกรรมที่ให้ผู้เรียนได้ฝึกและพัฒนาทักษะการฟัง และการพูดภาษาอังกฤษ ผ่านการลงมือทำ “ขนมสำปันนี” เมนูขนมไทยโบราณที่หาทานได้ยาก)
ฐานการเรียนรู้ที่ 4: Oscar Star! (กิจกรรมที่ให้ผู้เรียนฝึกและพัฒนาทักษะการฟัง การเขียน การพูดภาษาอังกฤษ รวมถึงทักษะความคิดสร้างสรรค์ ผ่านการออกแบบตอนจบของบทละครในแบบของตนเอง)
นอกจากนี้ การจัดค่ายภาษาอังกฤษครั้งนี้ ยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในการส่งเสริมการมีทัศนคติที่ดี เสริมสร้างความมั่นใจและความสามารถในการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ ที่จะมีส่วนช่วยเพิ่มขีดความสามารถด้านการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อการศึกษา และการประกอบอาชีพในอนาคตอีกด้วย
Global Competence Development Center (GCDC), School of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Organizes “English Olympian Camp” for Wat Phutthabucha School Students
On Friday, August 16, 2024, the Global Competence Development Center (GCDC) of the School of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, organized the “English Olympian Camp” for 60 Mathayomsuksa 2 and 5 students from Wat Phutthabucha School. The event was graced by the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Natjiree Jaturapitakkul, Deputy Dean for International Competency Development, who welcomed the school administrators, teachers, and students. Dr. Naruethep Jaisutthi, Priniple of Wat Phutthabucha School, also delivered an opening speech and provided valuable advice to the students participating in the camp.
The “English Olympian Camp” was designed to offer students the opportunity to practice and enhance their English language skills in realistic and diverse situations beyond the classroom. The camp featured four interactive learning stations:
Learning Station 1: Talk 2AI
This station allowed students to experiment with various technologies to practice and develop their English skills across speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Learning Station 2: Tell me a Story
Here, students practiced and honed their English writing and speaking skills, along with their creative abilities, by telling stories through drawing and narration.
Learning Station 3: MasterChef
At this station, students developed their listening and speaking skills in English by preparing “Khanom Sampanni,” a traditional Thai dessert that is rare to find today.
Learning Station 4: Oscar Star!
Students at this station engaged in activities that developed their English listening, writing, and speaking skills, as well as their creativity, by designing their own endings to a play.
In addition to skill development, the English Olympian Camp played a vital role in promoting a positive attitude towards English, boosting students’ confidence, and enhancing their ability to use English effectively. These skills are not only beneficial for their education but also for their future careers.
