คณะนักศึกษาจำนวน 16 คน และอาจารย์ 1 ท่าน จาก Soka University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น นำโดย Prof. Dr. Paul Horness ได้เข้าร่วม Soka Study Abroad Program ซึ่งเป็นความร่วมมือกับคณะศิลปศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี โดยมี อาจารย์วรวิธ เสนีชัย เป็นผู้ประสานงานฝ่ายไทย โครงการนี้จัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 28 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 ถึง 15 มีนาคม 2568
ในการดำเนินงานโครงการ นักศึกษาได้มีโอกาสทำกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมไทยและแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นกับนักศึกษาไทย อีกทั้งยังได้สัมผัสวิถีชีวิตชุมชนถ้ำรงค์ จังหวัดเพชรบุรี อาทิ การเรียนรู้การทำขนมตาล การจักสานใบตาล และการทำว่าวไทย นอกจากนี้ ยังได้เดินทางไปทัศนศึกษาเพื่อเรียนรู้ความเป็นไทยในอดีต ณ จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา ถือเป็นประสบการณ์ที่สร้างความเข้าใจอันดีระหว่างสองวัฒนธรรม
A group of 16 students and one professor from Soka University, Japan, led by Prof. Dr. Paul Horness, participated in the Soka Study Abroad Program in collaboration with the School of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), with Ajarn Woravit Seneechai serving as the Thai coordinator. The program was held from February 28 to March 15, 2025.
During the program, the students engaged in various cultural learning activities and exchanged ideas with Thai students. They also experienced Thai local life in Tham Rong Community, Phetchaburi Province, where they learned how to make Khanom Tan (Toddy Palm Cake), weave palm leaves, create traditional Thai kites, and more. Additionally, they went on a cultural excursion to Ayutthaya Province to explore the historical aspects of Thai culture. This program successfully provided a valuable experience that fostered mutual understanding between the two cultures.
